Introducing "The Boot Pro"
This
September, Shon Racicot and his wife Alex opened a new ski
shop in the Marketplace at the base of the Okemo access
road. Named for
its specialty,
The
Boot Pro offers top level custom bootfitting as well as
expert ski and board tuning, sales of high performance ski
boots, skis and accessories – with an emphasis on racing.
Shon Racicot, a lifetime resident of
Bootfitting
has always been Shon’s passion.
He finds great satisfaction in modifying boots to
accommodate a skier’s/snowboarder’s foot irregularities to
improve comfort and performance.
He is a fifteen time graduate of
Not only is custom bootfitting used for the skier and snowboarder but it has applications in everyday footware and athletic shoes. A custom molded footbed (insole) can ease back and joint pain, improve balance and provide better overall comfort in any shoe. The Boot Pro offers custom insoles for hiking boots, sneakers, cleats, bike shoes, golf shoes, workboots – just about any shoe imaginable.
The
Boot Pro has a state of the art bootfitting workshop
including many tools which Shon has had specially made to
his specifications.
The tuning department features Wintersteiger
technology and equipment and is run by John Lienhard, a
technician with sixteen years of experience tuning skis and
snowboards. The
shop offers all levels of tuning services with an emphasis
on serving the race community and their specific tuning
needs.
The lines opening the shop this year are Atomic (skis and
boots), Lange, Kastle, Scott, Leki, Uvex, and Smith.
