History and Mission

Our Mission

To provide a level of service and communication to our buyers and sellers that is above what they expected; to make the process of buying and selling property as worry free as possible; and to give back to our local community making the world just a little bit better.

Our History

In 1978, Betty and Bruce McEnaney bought their first house in Reading and found their way through the home buying process. Betty’s mother said, “You should be in real estate with all that you have learned.” Well, as they say, the rest is history.

By 1979, Betty was licensed as a real estate salesperson working at Watkins Real Estate in Reading. In 1983, Betty shifted over to Diamond Realty in Ludlow, as she and Bruce were now living in Cavendish. December of 1986 marked the beginning of being a broker/owner. Betty, along with partners Terry Thayne, Mark Gauthier, and Steve Lorenz opened Black River Associates. Despite the challenges of the post stock market crash, the team created a very successful business.

Along the way, Betty was one of the founders of the Crown Point Board of REALTORS, and was involved in the creation of the Multiple Listing Service in this area (which was the forerunner to the computerized system we have today).

One more career change was to take place when Betty left the partnership in 1995 and opened McEnaney & Ziemba, now known as McEnaney & Company. From day one, service to clients, customers, as well as to the community and the profession has been the driving motivation behind McEnaney & Company.
